Reading to Kindergarteners with Grades 3 and 4
‘Each book was a world unto itself, and in it I took refuge.’ Alberto Manguel
Wednesday morning children took shelter into a few such imaginary worlds. United by the power of a great story, students from Primary School visited Kindergarteners and together spent a cozy class appreciating what good narratives have to offer. Third graders read excerpts from a few different fairytale collections and then payed attention to the youngsters’ comprehension of the plot. Grade 4 presented several short plays, amongst which were ‘Grandpa's Mitten’ and ‘The Red Riding Hood’. They also danced and discussed their performance with the toddlers. Everyone received a little colourful sticker for their excellent participation and adorable smiles!
