PERFORMING ARTS

After the end of the school lessons, between 15:30 and 17:30, students may attend different classes in performing arts for an additional fee.

Once enrolled, clubs and sports can be changed only at the beginning of the next term.

    BALLET Ballet school Vaya Dance Studio   Founded in 2005, the Studio provides classical ballet training for children aged from 4 to 18 years. The children become acquainted with classical dance through the principles of the Russian School of Agripina Vaganova. The programme is adapted and designed in accordance with the age of the children, their previous experience and has reduced number of lessons in comparison to professional ballet schools. Being an art, so different from the real life, the ballet helps balancing the emotional and mental state of the children.     FOLK DANCES, BALLROOM AND LATIN DANCES, MODERN DANCES (photo) Club “Dance Station” A team of young professionals, with years of experience in working with children, they have gained national popularity with their participation in dance performances, reality shows and festivals. Choreographers, who have won the world championship of dance shows in 2014 and 2015 in Portugal and Romania as well as being qualified teachers.     FOLK SINGING (photo) Music teachers at St. George International School & Preschool     Bulgarian folk music and song live in the minds of thousands of people. In all the years of existence, folk songs and music have preserved the Bulgarian spirit. The diversity in terms of modes, metro-rhythm, voicing, tools, folk dances and performance makes Bulgarian music unique and interesting worldwide. In the process of experiencing and learning songs the children learn to develop concentration and to strengthen their will. Vocal education plays an important role in the development of speech in children and gives them the confidence to express and assert them-selves.     MUSIC INSTRUMENTS – PIANO, GUITAR AND DRUMS (photo)   Music teachers at St. George International School & Preschool   Playing a musical instrument has a beneficial effect on the human brain, it is fun, brings satisfaction and enriches intellectual and emotional intelligence. Musical instruments connect children with the beauty and harmony of music and develop their alertness and memory. Playing requires hard work, but provides high satisfaction when progress is made. The goals are to become acquainted with instruments, obligatory note literacy, sound production and the development of instrumental skills and techniques.     MUSIC THEORY AND SOLFEGGIO (photo) Music teachers at St. George International School & Preschool   Music theory and solfeggio are an integral part of the growth of each musician. They help understand the logic and consistency behind each tune and song, and are mandatory for mastering any musical instrument or song. Music theory studies include the construction of chords, intervals, octave groups mode, tonality, rhythm and sizes. Part of the study of musical theory comprises guessing the intervals, chords and modes, tones by ear and musical dictation. Solfeggio develops not only the music abilities, but the correct intonation when singing. If your child has higher goals in music, these lessons are mandatory.     VOCAL TECHNIQUE (photo) Music teachers at St. George International School & Preschool While learning songs, students learn to develop concentration and to strengthen their will. Vocal education plays an important role in the development of speech in children and gives them the confidence to express and assert themselves. In vocal technique lessons, the children not only learn songs, they will also develop control over their vocal physiology through a number of exercises alongside learning the theory and aspects of rhythmic and melodic flair, artistry, imagination and good performance behavior.
