After classes, between 15:30h and 17:30, students may attend different sports classes for an additional fee.

Once enrolled, clubs and sports can be changed at the beginning of the next term.

    FENCING Physical education teacher at St. George International School & Preschool   Fencing provides a unique combination of physical, intellectual and emotional stimulation. It enhances coordination, concentration, endurance as well as maintaining and developing the cardiovascular system. Unlike many other sports it develops qualities such as honour, gallantness and nobleness.   The training includes learning the fighting posture, moving around, attack and defense techniques and develops the ability to work in a team, tolerance, solidarity and sportsmanship.   Place: the building of St. George International School & Preschool   Duration: 45 minutes, twice a week     Ivan Nikolov Instructor

The specific technique develops excellent discipline and ability to focus, as well as the ability to work in a team, as each one of the team members puts his efforts in order to contribute to the collective goal. The skills which are acquired by the children remain for good. Social interaction, setting out goals, striving for leadership, maintaining good physical condition and acting responsibly are only a small group of qualities which are developed by the enthusiastic football players.

    KARATE Sports Club “Ipon” Like all Japanese martial arts Karate requires a strong spirit and has clear rules of behavior and respect. The ultimate purpose of Karate is not victory over the opponent, but the development of a perfect character, overcoming mental and physical pain, followed by strong discipline.     RHYTMIC GYMNASTICS Adriana Neikova, Master of Sports   Rhythmic gymnastics is a unique sport contributing to the overall physical wellbeing and development of children in a complex series of general and specialized exercises. The practice is in compliance with the physiological development of the children appropriate for their age.     SWIMMING (photo) Star Club Fit & Spa, Park Inn Hotel   Swimming is a sport which influences the development of the entire body and is good for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. While swimming, each muscle in the body is resulting in stronger and more flexible muscles. Swimming is an aerobic sport which improves cardiac health and increases lung capacity. This training is focused on the familiarization with different techniques and mastering different styles of swimming.   Place: Star Club Fit & Spa, Park Inn Hotel   Duration: 90 minutes, twice or more times a week

    Tennis Maleevi Tennis club   Despite being generally perceived as an individual sport, tennis has an educational influence on children because it teaches discipline, respect, improves their dedication to a goal, their perseverance and striving for victory. The constant dynamics, the various strikes, the legs and body exercise, even keeping balance while striking from uncomfortable positions – each component of this sport exercises many muscles in the human body. The sport focuses on strengthening the body, learning and developing techniques and skills, the improvement of attention focus and the development of skills to predict the opponents’ moves.     Place: Maleevi Tennis Club   Duration: 90 minutes, twice or more times a week

    YOGA Club „Yoga Zdrave“   Yoga for children is a practice to obtain calm and balanced mind, healthy, energetic and flexible bodies and it teaches responsibility and discipline. The classes include fun activities and breathing exercises, suitable for children with different levels of ability. Emphasis is placed on the technique and accuracy of poses, and the importance of deep and regular breathing. The students develop their self-esteem, strength, attention, focus and concentration. Yoga strengthens physical health, muscle activity, flexibility, coordination, self-awareness, emotional intelligence and helps them to be confident and able to explore their feelings.
